What a plan covers, and what it doesn't.
Five plans, one price per firm, no implementation fee. Here is what each one opens, what is included that most vendors charge extra for, and the four things a subscription honestly does not get you.
By the Marapone team · Updated September 2026
Marapone used to sell software you bought once. It does not any more. We run the engine, the eight programs open in your browser against your account, and you pay monthly or yearly for as long as they are useful to you. This article is the plain version of what that buys.
Why it changed:
A one-time licence means the version you bought is the version you keep, and the vendor's incentive to improve it ends at the invoice. A subscription means every improvement reaches you the day it ships, and we have to keep earning the renewal. It also means you do not own the engine, which is the honest cost of the arrangement, stated below in full.
The five plans
| Plan | Price | Seats | Opens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $69/mo $690/yr |
1 | AI Estimator on its own — quantities in, a priced and risk-adjusted bid out. |
| Field | $149/mo $1,490/yr |
1 | Blueprint Auditor, AI Estimator — the measure-and-price half of a bid. |
| Crew | $299/mo $2,990/yr |
up to 3 | Blueprint Auditor, AI Estimator, plus SpecChecker and ScopeGuard — the spec book and the subcontractor buyout read by the same system as the drawings. |
| Pro | $499/mo $4,990/yr |
up to 5 | All eight live programs, wired together so one job runs from drawing set through the awarded subcontract to close-out with nothing retyped. |
| Firm | $1,199/mo $11,990/yr |
up to 20 | All eight, plus a private workspace per project, priority processing and a named contact, and on yearly billing, all five data packs as files, kept for good. |
All prices are CAD, before tax. Tax is worked out at checkout from your own address, so no flat rate is applied to everyone. The yearly price is ten months of the monthly one — two months free, and it is derived from the monthly figure, so it is never typed into the copy, so the claim cannot drift away from the arithmetic.
Pricing is per firm. That is the structural difference against a per-seat AI add-on: your bill does not grow when you hire two more estimators, until you cross a seat count and move up a plan.
The seat counts on Crew, Pro and Firm are ceilings, not requirements. "Up to five" is the most people who can sign in, and not a number you need to have: one person on Pro pays $499 and opens every live program, exactly as a firm of five would, and simply leaves the other four seats empty until there is somebody to put in them.
Included, though you would expect to pay extra
- Every jurisdiction's reference data. Rates, tax treatment, statutory holdback, permit fees and code citations for the market you are bidding in — on Solo as much as on Firm. No plan is restricted to Ontario, and switching jurisdiction is not an upgrade. (Owning the data packs as files, for your own spreadsheets, is a separate purchase — except on a yearly Firm plan, which includes all five and lets you keep them whether or not you resubscribe.)
- The mobile app. One subscription covers the browser programs and, once it ships in Q4 2026, the MaraponeAI app for iOS and Android on the same tier. Nobody pays twice for the same seat.
- Unlimited use. No page caps, no document quotas, no per-run charge. A busy tender month costs the same as a quiet one.
- Every update. Improvements reach you the day they ship. There is no version to buy and no upgrade cycle.
- Support. Part of the plan.
- Onboarding. There is no implementation fee, because there is no implementation — nothing to install, no database to stand up, no rollout project.
- Every export format. Formats are not a feature tier. The full list is here.
The four things a plan does not get you
Stated plainly, because finding out on the call is worse than finding out here.
- The source code or the model weights. Marapone runs the engine. There is no installer, no licence key and no handover, and that is what makes one flat price per firm possible instead of a five-figure implementation. If your requirement is a system you hold outright and can run after we are gone, we are not that vendor.
- An offline or air-gapped install. The programs run on our infrastructure, so they need a connection and your documents are uploaded to us to be read. If an owner or architect has contractually barred putting tender drawings on a third-party service, a plan is the wrong answer and we will say so. The one exception is deployment into your own cloud tenant, which is enterprise work priced as a project.
- Live connectors into your other systems. Every handoff is a file you export and import. There is no Procore app, no Autodesk connector, no plugin and no public API.
- Anything after you cancel. Access ends when the subscription does. What you produced does not — see below.
What is yours regardless
You do not own the engine. You own everything you make with it.
- Your documents stay yours. They are read in a workspace scoped to your account and are never used to train a model, ours included, and there is no third-party AI vendor in the path to train anyone else's either.
- Every takeoff, estimate, levelling sheet and report exports on demand in Excel, CSV and PDF — formats that outlive us. Exporting needs no ticket and no notice period.
- You delete the lot yourself, whenever you want. Your dashboard has a button that erases every document we hold and another that closes the account outright — both run in seconds, with a confirmation email listing what went. No written request, no ticket, no waiting period.
Trial, discount, cancelling
- Fourteen free days on Field, seven on Solo. Unlimited, on your own documents. One trial per account; Crew, Pro and Firm have none. Account and card required; nothing charged until the trial ends. How to spend them →
- 10% off the first month for an account that has never held a subscription. Monthly billing only, applied automatically — there is no code to hunt for. It does not stack on yearly, which is already sold at ten months for twelve.
- Cancelling is two clicks in your dashboard. No retention call, no notice period, no email to a support queue. A subscription should be easy to leave, or it is not being renewed on merit.
When a plan is the wrong purchase
Three cases, so nobody has to discover them after paying:
- You are contractually barred from uploading tender documents to a third-party service. Buy nothing here; talk to us about enterprise deployment or do not buy at all.
- You need a workflow none of the eight programs covers. That is a custom build, quoted as a project.
- You want the reference libraries and not the software — the rate tables, code rulesets and scope checklists as files you read yourself. Those are the data packs, sold one-time, from $59.
Start on Field. Move up when it earns it.
